Promoting unconditional love and compassion

Aquamarine stone is a meditative stone that harmonizes the heart and throat

and delivers unconditional love and compassion.

AQUAMARINE HEALING PROPERTIES

Aquamarine, a mesmerizing and sparkly gemstone, has been considered a precious gemstone beauty for many centuries.

This gorgeous gemstone is a mesmerizing crystal with a wide variety of benefits and uses.

Aquamarine Chakras

In the spiritual realm, aquamarine is believed to have the ability to activate the heart chakra, the energy centre associated with unconditional love and compassion. It also stimulates the throat chakra and improves the flow of energy between the heart and throat centres.

The throat chakra is the voice of the body, a pressure valve that allows the energy from the other chakras to be expressed. If it is blocked or out of balance, it can affect the health of the other chakras.

In balance, the throat chakra allows for self expression. We can communicate our ideas, beliefs, and emotions more effectively.

When the throat chakra is in balance and open, we more easily find and reveal our own personal truth.  The aquamarine helps to improve the flow of energy within the body and spirit.

Aquamarine is also associated with water, which gives it a cooling effect on the body.

Aquamarine Spiritual Energy

The meaning of the aquamarine stone is based heavily on its namesake – the sea. Represented by the depth of the blue sea, aquamarine imparts exhilaration and relaxing calm. It is a stone that encourages one to let go of ill feelings and cleanse unkind thoughts. The stone inspires trust and truth.

The reflective properties of this blue mineral are connected to how the sky is reflected on the sea surface. It is believed that the reflective properties can help the wearer find hidden meanings and truths.

It is believed that this tone has the ability to calm one’s fear of public speaking. It encourages reflective relaxation and calm, revealing the speaker’s wisdom while unlocking inner truths and feelings.

Communication is improved, while anger or fear melt away, in favor of clear and calm thoughts.

History of Aquamarine

The history of aquamarine dates back to the Ancient Egyptian and possibly beyond. According to legend, mythical mermaids held the bright blue rock as a treasure.

From this legend, comes the belief that aquamarine is the lucky stone of sailors. Because mermaids had such high regard for the blue mineral, they would grant sailors who carried it their protection. This legendary history remains an intriguing part of the stone’s meaning to this day. And one of the reasons that gemstone collectors are fascinated with it.

It was Roman fishermen who were the first to refer to the gemstone as ‘aqua marinus,’ which translates from Latin to “seawater.”

Fishermen believed that the aquamarine gemstone helped them to get a good catch. And so, became associated with bringing good fortune and prosperity to those carrying it on their fishing boats.

According to Ancient Egyptians, aquamarine belonged to the sea goddesses. Archeologists have found aquamarine gemstones in the mummy pits of the Ancient Egyptians.

The President of Brazil gifted an aquamarine necklace to Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. And, apparently, the blue color so enchanted her that she decided to have a tiara made of these gemstones a few years later.

Aquamarine Properties

Aquamarine is a semi-precious type of beryl, with slightly varying colors but relatively consistent transparency. There are bluish-green or turquoise aquamarines as well as pure blue ones. The depth of their colour can range from only a hint of color to quite dark.

The darker they are, the more valuable they are considered to be, but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
